The Barkantine Dental Outreach Clinic is a self-contained dental clinic on the 1st floor of a purpose built medical centre, which also offers GP, maternity and mental health services to the local community. It is located near to Canary Wharf in an area of high social need. The clinic has 10 clinical chairs which are used for the teaching of undergraduate 3rd year dental students. Each year group attends for a day every 2 weeks for a morning and afternoon session, and thus on average for 20 days per academic year. There are approximately 71 students in the year group.
